|Corin Nemec as Parker Lewis|
A true child of the 1980s/1990s will remember watching the Fox primetime television show, Parker Lewis Can't Lose. This thirty minute show was must-see TV for tweens, teens and college kids. Although I myself was a college freshman, I made sure never to miss an episode.
Strongly influenced by the popularity of 1980s film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, aired between September 2, 1990 (1990-09-02) – June 13, 1993 and focused on an extremely lovable, and easy-to-relate to, cast of characters. You either wanted to be one of 'em or date one of 'em. Each week, the sitcom's storyline dealt with the high school kids' trials and tribulations in a hilarious way of course.
Parker Lewis Can't Lose was almost like a cooler, flashier, more mature 1990s version of The Wonder Years. You know me and my crushes, each episode, I couldn't decide which guy I liked more ... cute and slick Parker (Corin "Corky" Nemec) or rocker hottie Michael Patrick 'Mikey' Randall (played by Billy Jayne credited as Billy Jacoby in Just One of the Guys).
Remember this show? If not, here's a Parker Lewis Can't Lose YouTube clip to rouse your memory.
OMG, I completely forgot about that show!!! What a blast from the past!
i used to drool all over this heart throb and i had the Tiger Beat centerfold wall paper to prove it.
TILTE + Corin = 4ever.
I do not ever remember watching that show.
I adored the show. They've released the complete series now to DVD. I keep meaning to pick it up.
I loved that show! I also had a huge crush on Corin Nemec :-)
I had the biggest crush on Corky!
I was a college freshman the fall of 1990 as well - and unfortunately I did watch this... by default, because my girlfriend did. I'll admit it was better then Saved By The Bell or other crappy shows like that - it had a little more of a hip factor to it.
I never actually saw it myself, but my kids did and they loved it.
OMG! Get outta my head!I was just asking my husband if he remembered this show!!!He didn't and looked at me like I had three heads when I tried to describe its awesomeness!
Oh man I LOVED this show!! So much so that my best friend and I adopted saying "Coolness Park" ALLL the time. We still use it to this day!
Good God. Those clothes...those CLOTHES!
Don't remember this show AT ALL...but, right....I was likely married with kids by the time it came out.
I remember this show! I really liked it but I seem to remember it being short lived. I looked forward to it each week while it was on!
I totally forgot about that show!
My BFF and I used to love this show when we were in college. She like the stupid guy...What was his name?? Was he on ER later????
(What has happened to mah brain?)
Like many others, I had a crush on Corky, but why???
Oh, I loved the shit out of this show! Kubacki went on to play Anya's husband in a really funny episode of Buffy.
Yep, I just rewatched this on DVD and it was still fun!
Loved that show!!! Almost as much as It's your move!
Back in the day, it was my dream to have his love child...but he really gave me the creeps when he was in Steven King's THE STAND....NO BUENO!
Nope, don't remember that show at all :(
Brilliant!! Such a great blast from the past. I'll be back for more soon!
I loved this show. In the late 90's I spent lots of time at concerts in Los Angeles, where I used to run into the actor that played Kubiak all the time. In fact, I called him Kubiak once...I don't think he liked that very much.
hahaha you remind me of my older sister.... true product of the eighties hahaha
I watched this show! Didn't he have kinda a large friend? What was that dude's name?
Try as they might, they never quite had the magic of Ferris Bueller.
I. Had. COMPLETELY. Forgotten about this show. WOW. Thanks for the refresher course in my grade school years!!
I used to love this show and have the biggest crush on Corin!
I owned a few of those shirts, only they were paisley.
He's a lot cuter than I remember him to be.
Love this show, one of my all time favs. Corin was the cutest, I must say I still have a crush on him.
Day late, dollar short, but here it goes...I met my husband the summer of 1992. We watched PLCL every Sunday evening. When it came time to officially move in together we stole a cat from the old apartment complex. He was a HUGE ginger tabby named Pumpkin. Well, in my world that name didn't fly and we renamed him Parker for the character.
Parker the cat was a bon vivant, a cat about town. Neighbor kids would come up and pet him and he loved it. Sadly he passed away of feline leukemia the summer of 1994. That cat was the best!
As for Corin Nemec, too bad he got sucked into a cult. Scientology is weird!
