Coleco Tabletop Pac-man Game

In 1982, this Pac-man game was the coolest toy around ... It was like a mini arcade version of Pac-man. Created by Coleco, this small tabletop game was awesome. Although I never had one, I sure wanted one. I wasn't super spoiled and had Atari so that had to suffice.

Did anyone out there own this? I've thought about getting it on eBay, but nothing beats the full-sized arcade Pac-man.

  3. Nope I never had it, but I just bought myself a Pacman t-shirt. It's amazing how these games are now popular again. I was more of a Space Invader fan myself.

  6. Never had that; of course I was a mere 3 years old when my dad bought our Atari set in 1982. But Pac-man was by far my favorite game, because of the child-friendly settings (and I whipped my dad's butt on many an occasion, LOL!).

  7. I remember that tabletop Pac-Man game very well. Never had it, but I did have the Mattel Electronics' Basketball game, which I played religiously! Ah, the wonders of LED blips.

  8. Hey Ally! I actually thought of you, and a few of the other nostalgia blogs that I follow, yesterday. I was given the chance to pre-screen a documentary about Rick Springfield that is releasing this week in NYC. I know you would LOVE this movie! Even if someone wasn't a Springfield fan in the 80s (not saying I know who this would be, be whatever), this documentary is interesting because it is not so much about him as it is about his fans. It really explored the nature of being a lifelong fan. Plus, since I was a huge Springfield fan as a kid, I thought the music was great :) Anyway, just wanted to let you know. You can check out the mini review at my Trapped in the 80s Moms blog. If you have any interest in linking to it or talking about it, feel free! Keep up the good work here--you know yours is one of the best nostalgia blogs :)

  12. I had this, Ms.Pacman, Donkey kong. Whenever the batteries died out, they were too expensive to buy. I was dumb and took it apart figuring it was broken. I got other games at garage sales like Galaxy 2. I thought in the future that these would make a retro comeback with the actual graphics of the arcade version with sound.
I hoped for them to come up with Dragon's lair, Venture, Gorf, etc.

  13. that was one of my favorite mini arcade cabinets. I also had donkey kong, and ms.pacman. Of course I always got curious when they came up with newer games, and as I got older, I got more games from summertime garage sales. Shame that my other favorite classic arcade games never made it to a coleco mini arcade game.
