| I'm always in the mood for Stove Top |
I'd like to know if your mom served Stove Top stuffing on an average Thursday night for dinner. Why? My mom never did. Stuffing was a holiday side dish. Commercials showing happy homemaking mothers unveiling boxes of easy-to-make Stove Top stuffing quite frankly made me jealous.
I realize stuffing, especially Stove Top, isn't the healthiest side dish for today's carb-conscience folks, but I can't help but wonder if others consumed such deliciousness off-season. Do you, as a mom, serve your kids stuffing throughout the year? Please let me know...
I had to share this 1980 Stove Top TV commercial with you. Remember this one? Always thought it was cute.

We never had Stove Top until I got older. I wasn't really a fan of stuffing until my late teens, so not having it wasn't a bad thing to me.
We never had stuffing except at Thanksgiving, either. I loved stuffing--I probably would've been as excited as Billy to score some stuffing at a friend's house.

My Mom would make Stop-Top at least once a month. I was a fat little kid, so Stove-Top nights were some of my favorites :)
Growing up, we ate Stove Top as a side dish all throughout the year. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it, my kids (ages 3, 5, 7) also heart it. So, I use it as a year-long side dish as well. I also make it for holiday dinners, and it just occurred to me this Thanksgiving that I should start doing a homemade stuffing for the holidays.
PS...I also learned something, now that I live in the south, I should be saying dressing? instead of stuffing...
;-)
The only stuffing we ever had when I was a young kid was the real stuff at Thanksgiving. In my teen years, my mom got on a kick of making zucchini casserole with Stove Top stuffing and Campbell's mushroom soup. Good stuff!
